ProductCart Defender was released on 9/30/2015 as part of a critical security patch. If you did not receive the original announcement, then please click on the following link to read more:
This message is to inform you of several updates available to ProductCart Defender, as follows:
1. We have added a “success” message to the database update script. Instead of redirecting users to the main menu upon success, it provides a visual indication that the database was successfully updated.
2. Several merchants reported that their ProductCart Control Panel bookmarks didn’t work after installing the security patch. This issue is now resolved.
3. One of the new security filters was too aggressive and caused problems with various ‘search’ and ‘add’ features in the ProductCart Control Panel. This has been addressed in the latest ProductCart Defender security definition file, which has already been electronically transmitted to all stores enrolled in the ProductCart Support & Updates Plan. This is a great example of the power and benefit of adding ProductCart Defender to your store. As our security definition filters are improved over time, we can issue updates to your store directly, without having to post the patches on our support page and hope that all customers receive the notification e-mail!
What do you need to do?
If you are not experiencing issues with ProductCart Control Panel bookmarks or loading sub menu pages directly, or you don’t bookmark any ProductCart Control Panel pages, then no action is required.
Anyone that has already installed the security patch and has experienced problems with Control Panel bookmarks should download the patch again and re-install it.
If you haven’t yet installed the security patch, then you should download and install as soon as possible. ProductCart customers using v4.1 or higher can use the “Check for Updates” link under the Help Menu in their ProductCart Control Panel to find the patch.
