Snippets: How to Add a Dropdown Shopping Cart Summary

Last Updated: Dec 12, 2014 11:27AM EST

Overview

Your customers will appreciate having a quick summary of what they have added to their shopping cart shown on every storefront page, so that they know at all times what the total of their order is at that time.

This useful code snippet shows how many items have been added to the cart, the current order total, a link to view the shopping cart details, and one to start the checkout process.

You can add this dynamic element to your store interface by including the following lines of code to your theme's "header.asp" file:

If your store is using a Bootstrap theme, add the following lines where you want the Small Shopping Cart to appear:

                                    <div class="pc-quick-cart">
                                             <!--#include file="../../SmallQuickCart_Bootstrap.asp"-->
                                    </div>

Otherwise, you can add the following lines:

                                    <div id="pcIconBarCart">
                                             <!-- #include file="../../smallQuickCart.asp" -->
                                    </div>

The best approach is to temporarily view the positioning in one of the default themes and how the Small Shopping Cart is referenced in the related "header.asp" file.
