Tracking storefront searches using Google Analytics

The Site Search feature in the Google Analytics system allows you to track what your store visitors are searching for when using the search feature that's built into ProductCart.
 
  • See this article for general information on how to configure Site Search
  • Here are the specific steps for configuring site search tracking for your ProductCart site:
    • Log into your Google Analytics account
    • Click the "Admin" menu item at the top of the page
    • Select the appropriate Account from the Account drop-down list
    • Select the appropriate Property from the Property drop-down list
    • Select the appropriate View from the View drop-down list
    • Click the "View Settings" link under the View name
    • Scroll down to the "Site Search Settings" section
    • Click the toggle button to turn "On" Site Search Tracking
    • Enter "keyword" in the Query Parameter text box
    • Click the toggle button to turn o"On" Site Search Categories
    • Enter "idcategory" in the Category Parameter text box
    • Click the Save button
